Login Page when launching Document homepage

I have some users here at my firm, one being myself, who no longer automatically gets signed into the document home page. I am under the impression that the homepage uses active directory authentication. However, my active directory credentials do not allow me to log in. I have two users who have confirmed that they are automatically logged into the document homepage when they launch it, and I have two users(myself being one) who gets the login screen where no credentials work. I have even reset my password for document and used that one and it still does not allow me to log in. I am at a loss here. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank You

Re: Synchronization in the Field

We have been having the same issue where synching in the field with the peer to peer networking.   It works intermittingly or not at all.   We also have a terminal server and use VPN but could not sync in the field.   The work was done there then staff would have to come back to the office and connect to the network to sync.

Just recently we started using Dells SonicWall NetExtender along with Remote Desktop and VPN.   It seems to work okay with a good Wi-Fi connection but not all clients have a Wi-Fi that we could use so it presented a problem.   We bought 3 Verizon Ellipsis Jetpacks that are supposed to be able to connect up to 8 users at once with fairly good upload and download speed.  However we noticed if more than 2 people are using the Jetpacks even with a good connection through VPN tunnel to RDP with the NetExtender to the Terminal Server it's way too slow.   We tested the jetpacks outside of work and they were much better.   Even though these were rated very good by Verizon I am wondering they just don't work well with NetExtender.   We are wondering if anyone else has had success when out in the field with syncing and using Engagement.   I would appreciate any input in what other products anyone else is using.

Does anybody have any issues with Prosystem tax using Server 2012 and Terminal Server 2012.  We continue to crash using Windows 8.1 when accessing the Server.  When using a WIndows 7 computer all is fine

 

When Accessing the Terminal Server whether you are using a WIndows 7 or WIndows 8 computer you will crash periodically.  Any help is appreciated

Can't efile Nebraska return with NOL

Has anyone figured out a way to get past the disqualification code 43889 (when Nebraska has a NOL carryforward, but no Form NOL is present)?  I've talked with support and they have said we will have to paper file these returns, but we have a lot of returns that this affects.  It just seems that this early in the season, we shouldn't have to paper file our home state returns when Nebraska mandates we efile.  There apparently is not way to force the form to print.

Problems with Windows 8 Server

Is anyone having problems with Windows 8 Server.  Our server has been slowing down almost daily.  Since Prosystem FX is the largest program on the server we think that is the cause.

Unable to print workpapers

I have a user that attempts to print workpapers to no avail. Print job spools up and is reported as successful, however the document never prints. This happens whether user opts to print from PFX console, or opens workpaper in Excel.

when doing a paste TB import we are getting the following errors: first dialogue : error#0 was generated by <ok> to continue, then Error #13 type mismatch module frmWizard procedure PageLoader <ok> to continue and finally just a <finish> dialogue box. 

 

With a lot of attempts to do the TB import by only selecting parts of the data we narrowed down the row/field that was erroring out.  Changing the value and redoing the TB import we further narrowed down that it was erroring if the number was larger than 2.1 billion.  Testing 2,147,483,647 works without an error, 2,147,483,648 however does error; ie it appears that we hit the maximum value for a 32-bit signed integer when rounding the value.

 

Any help on how to convert it to BIGINT or some other method to get past this issue.  This is early on in the process and there are going to be a lot of values in our final financial statements with a value greater than $2.1 billion.

Workpaper Manager architecture

All,

 

I am newbie to workpaper manager.  I am just handed a dvd and asked to setup for our tax department.  Our network setup is very tied that means firewalls are every where.  I need to understand the communication between client machine, administrator and database.  Is there a comprehensive architecture diagram out there that I can use for our configuration?  The install document list few ports but I need to know what port which machine/server communicate on.  Really appreciate any pointers that you can provide.

document server is currently unavailable

Hello,

 

Has anyone seen the following error message after having worked with CCH support to upgrade Document (on premise) to the most current version? 

 

Error Message: The document server is currently unavailable. You will not be able to perform any document related activities at this time.
Error Detail: The remote server returned an unexpected response: (400) Bad Request.
Logged task:

All users in our environment have this problem, support says it's likely a DNS issue, but it only appeared after the recent update

Our firm has the same problem where we are using knowledge coach for the first year and we are the predessesor auditor. We passed this to IT and did not get a sufficient response. They told us to answer the question: "is this a recurring or new audit" as New even though it is recurring. Has anyone else had this issue? was it resolved in any way?

I work on the product management team for Knowledge Coach and I'd like to understand this a little better as the initial post is a bit older and a lot has changed since then.

 

1. If you are the predecessor auditor, you should note that the engagement is recurring.  You should only respond to "new" if it is an engagement that is new to the firm.

 

2.  Please confirm - when you responded "Recurring", you received a question/diagnostic about a new client in the Acceptance and Continuance Form?  Please let me know which title and I can investigate further.

 

Also, I'm going to invite you to our private Knowledge Coach Community - there are quite a few resources on this site in addition to approximately 400 Knowledge Coach users.

Hello Stella:

 

The primary tip for rolling forward is to ensure that the roll forward settings are correct as part of your template setup and prior to implementing firm wide.  As part of your best practices training you should:

 

1. Set up an example binder that includes the roll forward settings.  This example binder would be used to set up the remaining binders for your firm.  Therefore it's important to get the one binder EXACTLY the way you want it  - remember that anything you dislike would potentially be replicated across binders.

2. Test the roll forward with one binder before copying to others.  Many firms like to use the "Keep All Responses" option, which is different from the default workpaper setting.  When you roll the example binder forward, make sure that what you wanted to keep is still there.

3.You can change the roll forward setting for multiple workpapers by selecting them (using either control or shift), right clicking, then choosing "properties".

Error loading Time module

Just started working with a new client and one workstation is having issues using the Time Module in the software.

I removed the client and re-installed the software and the problem seems to persist but only with the time module.

 

Accessing the time module directly or through the link from the dashboard results in the same error.

The client is running PRoSystem fx Practice Management - Basic Edition (2011.11.01)

Shortcut to jump to next sheet in Tax?

New to CCH Axcess, I am aware of F9, F10 to go to next form, but does anyone know of a shortcut to go to the next sheet within in a form? For instance a depreciation schedule with hundreds of pages?

Interview Form List Titles

I am looking for a list of what forms are pulled up when you click on the form number from the interview list. Example, Form #1 is Basic Taxpayer & Dependent Data.  Where can I find this?  The only thing in the help section are keyboard shortcuts.
